Chelsea have a big London Derby clash on their hands in the Premier League this weekend. The immediate past European champions have an home game against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur as they look to continue their perfect start to the season. The two teams will meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening. Ahead of the London Derby clash with Spurs, Chelsea have a good recent record after winning all four games last season. The Blues won four out of four games in all competitions against Spurs last season including the two league fixtures. Chelsea knocked Spurs out of the EFL Cup at the semi-final stage last season by winning the two legs before they lost out to Liverpool in the final as a result of the dreaded penalty shooutout. Thomas Tuchel and his Chelsea players lost 11-10 to Liverpool during the shootout after substitute goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga missed the decisive spot kick.

CHELSEA, MAN UNITED, TOTTENHAM KEEPING TABS ON ISIAH JONES

According to 90 min, Manchester United are among the clubs keeping tabs on Isaiah Jones. The Middlesbrough wide man is coming on the back of a fruitful spell in the Championship and has become a target for several top clubs across the Premier League. Other than Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs to have kept close tabs on the 22-year-old. Jones does have a long-term contract at Middlesbrough, but the Premier League giants are hoping to snap him up with the lure of top-flight football. A right-winger by trade, Jones has been a member of Middlesbrough for quite some time now. But he made his major breakthrough this past season, racking up one goal and nine assists in 42 league outings. Transformed into more of a wing-back, the Englishman has enjoyed stellar success in his new role. The 22-year-old has expertly used his pace to provide width out wide, while his tally of nine assists is indicative of his ability to whip in crosses into the box. It has made him an appealing target for Manchester United, who are in the market for a new right-back amid uncertainty over the future of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

HARGREAVES: DIFFICULT FOR CHELSEA TO RETAIN UCL

index 0
Chelsea will have a really hard time retaining the UEFA Champions League title this season because they will be facing more readily prepared teams, according to former Manchester United star Owen Hargreaves. The Blues were crowned the champions of Europe last season after defeating Pep Guardiola'Manchester City in the final by a slender goal margin of 1-0. Before setting up a final clash against the Cityzens, Chelsea already played against the likes of Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, defeating them even though they were originally referred to as the underdogs heading into the ties. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1200"]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E2ntWi9XwAMJrJe.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E2ntWi9XwAMJrJe.jpg[/caption] Although Hargreaves believes that Chelsea have quite the squad that can cause an upset this season as well, he also thinks that the rest of the teams would already he more wary of them now and that will help them to get even more prepared and ensure that they are not allowed to win the title two times in a row. Speaking in a recent studio session, Hargreaves said that he has a lot of respect for the Blues because they quenched the doubts he had for them last season when they went all the way to win the UEFA Champions League title.

HOME FORM DERAILS CHELSEA TITLE HOPES

Chelsea have not won the Premier League title since the Antonio Conte era in 2016 and they might have to wait until 2023 at least if they don't get their acts together at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have one of the best away records in the Premier League this season, but it's their home form that has threatened to derail their title challenge even before the halfway stage of the season. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1200"]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FGwoHWcXMAEq94a.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FGwoHWcXMAEq94a.jpg[/caption] West London giants Chelsea led the Premier League for the better part of two months before they lost the summit to defending champions Manchester City earlier this month thanks to the 3-2 comeback loss at fellow London team West Ham United. The Blues lost to a very good team on their own patch though they would be disappointed that they didn't manage to hold on to the lead twice during the game only to then lose it in the final minutes, but in truth, it is their home form that ensured that they lost their place at the top of the table to Manchester City, while also losing second place to Liverpool. Chelsea have had to settle for third place since losing to the Hammers this month. It must be pointed out that Chelsea drew their last two home games before the West Ham United and that's where the problem lies.

WILL CHELSEA TRY TO SIGN KOUNDE IN JANUARY?

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E-gsi0mXIAUwLrw.jpg Chelsea are particularly not happy with the way the Jules Kounde transfer saga played out and they have expressed their dissatisfaction and disappointment to the player's club Sevilla following the breakdown of the transfer. The Blues showed some serious interest in the France international central defender and were ready to snap him up this summer but the possibility of the move happening initially depended on some certain factors. One of those factors was that Chelsea would first try to sell a defender in order to raise funds before making their first official offer for Kounde. However, the whole thing didn't actually happen as planned. The defender Chelsea decided to sell was Kurt Zouma. The initial agreement was for Chelsea to agree a player-plus-cash deal with Sevilla and they would be expected to send Zouma to Spain and add some additional cash to prise Kounde away from the club. But that was not going to happen as Zouma insisted that he would not be heading to Spain and would love to remain in the English Premier League instead. It was initially a difficult situation for the Blues but they managed to reach an agreement with West Ham United after the Hammers registered an interest in signing the player.

Frenchman Antoine Griezmann has been offered to European champions Chelsea according to the latest news coming out of the UK (United Kingdom) media. Chelsea want to sign a new striker ahead of the new season and Barcelona have offered Griezmann to them according to the specific report from the Daily Star. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1200"]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E5je4KqXMAA5tu4.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E5je4KqXMAA5tu4.jpg[/caption] Barcelona are in a financial crisis and they are keen to move on a lot of their players including French international Griezmann to ease their burden financially. The Catalan giants have not been able to hand talisman Lionel Messi a new deal because of their financial situation as they need to balance the books before they can give the little magician a new contract thanks to the strict financial rules from La Liga.

BATSHUAYI SET TO LEAVE CHELSEA PERMANENTLY THIS SUMMER

index 0
Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi could be set for a permanent exit from Stamford Bridge this summer if the recent reports are anything to go by. The Belgium international striker is aware that his time with the Blues is all over and has been looking for a new club since some months ago. Batshuayi has long found himself down the pecking order at the club following the arrivals of Olivier Giroud, Tammy Abraham, and Timo Werner in recent months. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1200"]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DMqnIzYWsAAgHBr.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DMqnIzYWsAAgHBr.jpg[/caption] His lack of game time was a huge problem for him and after letting his intentions known that he would like to leave the club on loan, he decided to join Crystal Palace after the London club made a loan offer for him. He joined Palace last summer and spent the rest of the season at Selhurst Park but after returning to Stamford Bridge following the completion of his loan spell at Palace, he is now looking for an escape route in form of a new club where he can continue his footballing career.

Chelsea have secured their spot in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League this season even though they suffered a defeat at home to FC Porto in the second leg of their tie which was played on Tuesday night. The Blues already had the job done in the first leg away in Portugal when they played Porto. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1200"]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ey4KvZXWYAcsn-h.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ey4KvZXWYAcsn-h.jpg[/caption] Goals from Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell handed Thomas Tuchel's men a comfortable 2-0 first-leg advantage before the second leg. At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea did not play with the same aggression and character they showed in Portugal and failed to penetrate the Porto defense. The game ended goalless at half-time, with neither side registering a single shot on target.
