BARCELONA STAR OFFERED TO CHELSEA – REPORT

Frenchman Antoine Griezmann has been offered to European champions Chelsea according to the latest news coming out of the UK (United Kingdom) media. Chelsea want to sign a new striker ahead of the new season and Barcelona have offered Griezmann to them according to the specific report from the Daily Star.

Barcelona are in a financial crisis and they are keen to move on a lot of their players including French international Griezmann to ease their burden financially. The Catalan giants have not been able to hand talisman Lionel Messi a new deal because of their financial situation as they need to balance the books before they can give the little magician a new contract thanks to the strict financial rules from La Liga.

The Spanish giants have also not been able to register their new players as a result of their financial situation. They need to move players on to register new signings like Memphis Depay, Emerson Royce, Eric Garcia and Sergio Aguero. Griezmann could be one of the players sold to ease the financial crisis at the Nou Camp.

Barcelona attacker Griezmann has a very good record in front of goal throughout his career. He has featured in 558 games in his career as a professional footballer netting 220 goals. In addition, French international Griezmann has bagged 58 assists throughout his career. Griezmann has been at Barcelona since joining them from fellow Spanish La Liga team Atletico Madrid.

Griezmann was an important player for France as they won the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia. France emerged world champions by beating Croatia 4-2 in the final. The Barcelona star and his French teammates could not add the European Championship to their World Cup title after they were dumped out of Euro 2020 at the round of 16 stage by Switzerland.
