Chelsea yesterday could have jumped two places higher in the Premiership standings as their three close competitors in the tournament, United, Arsenal and the Spurs, ended on the losing side in their encounters past weekend. If Chelsea had secured three points playing Burnley, they would have been able to displace Arsenal and the Spurs from their respective positions and would have positioned themselves at no. 3. But they were unexpectedly stopped on a draw by the visiting Clarets and they could have just one more point added to their tally. Although even with that one point, Chelsea managed to go past Arsenal with whom they were leveled with in terms of the no. of points and were trailing on the goal difference only, but they remained behind Tottenham.
Chelsea manager and coach Maurizio Sarri has come forward and talked about the conflict between the club and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga following the its defeat to football club Manchester City in the finals of the Carabao Cup. The controversy puts the club in a tough position specially when we all witnessed how the club was having a fine start in the Premiere League. The conflict arose when Kepa did not let himself be substituted in the extra time. This angered the coach and he instantly shouted at the staff following which he even tore his clothes and marched away towards the tunnel in front of the cameras. Although, Maurizio did come back to the touchline in a while. Later, defender Antonio Rudiger held back Sarri when he attempted to confront the goalkeeper just before the penalty shootout post which Manchester won the game with a score of 4-3.
Thomas Tuchel reckons that some of the controversial statements that Jurgen Klopp made in the aftermath of his team’s defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain, he probably made them purposefully so that people’s attention could divert and couldn’t remain on the result of the match which was a poor one from Liverpool’s perspective. Tuchel admitted that even he as a coach does that at times, when he has a poor result in an important match and he doesn’t want to go into the details of the matche. So he goes in the press conferences and rather says indifferent things so that the focus can shift elsewhere.
When it comes to every team of the English Premier League, according to Mauricio Sarri, it’s Manchester United the side that has the best squad at least player by player from each position. “I think they are a very strong team. Maybe player-by-player, they are the best team in the league. At the moment City is more of a team, but player-by-player they are very, very strong. We are talking only about eight matches, they are doing well in the Champions League so they can improve in the Premier League, we are talking about two months.”
Chelsea defender Victor Moses has confirmed his retirement from international football at the age of 27. The attacker has been a regular feature for Nigeria over the past seven years but he has now decided to step down from national team duty to concentrate on his club career and his young family. “I would like to announce that after much thought I have made the decision to retire from playing international football. I have experienced some of the best moments of my life wearing the Super Eagles shirt and have memories with me that will last a lifetime. Nothing will ever compete to what it felt like to represent Nigeria on behalf of our country. However, I feel that now is the right time to step away in order to be able to focus fully on club career and my young family as well as to allow the next generation of Super Eagles stars the opportunity to step up and to flourish,” he wrote on his official Instagram account.

Victor Moses has returned to action for the defending champions of England as Chelsea beat Swansea 1-0. The Nigerian played his first game for the Blues since his injury in the game against Crystal Palace on October 14. Antonio Conte has praised Alvaro Morata for the impact that he has made so far at Chelsea and said that fans should expect more from the player in the future. He said that it is never easy to come to a new club and score goals and he believes that the new striker is managing to do this brilliantly. He said that the player is still adjusting to Chelsea and that fans should expect more from him as soon as he settles in the team. Indeed Alvaro Morata managed to score his second goal after joining Chelsea and created the goal for Fabregas. Antonio Conte said that Chelsea has a unique playing style and that it will take time before Alvaro Morata adjusts to it completely. But there are signs that he is starting to do that as he participates more in the build-up play. The manager said that the striker has scored a very beautiful goal and that it is not easy for a new player to adapt to Chelsea’s playing style. He said that the player is in a new surrounding and in a new country and that it will take time for him to play freely and be at his best.
After having a relatively successful three year spell at Chelsea, Diego Costa’stime appears to be up at the Bridge. Amidst his charming qualities like being an offensive nuisance you will kill for to have among your ranks laid the propensity to overrun such qualities due to his immature interpersonal skills. One of the most important things coaches value as high as anindividual’s talent is the willingness to be loyal to their plans, to listen to them. Conte was not getting any of that from Costa.Unlike Diego Simeone, Antonio Conte found it extremely hard to deal with the Spain international. Despite the Spaniard’s part in making the Italian one of the very few coaches to lift the league in their first season in charge, he decided that he had had enough of the striker most people refer to as a man-child due to his juvenile antics both on and off the pitch.
