Senegalese international currently playing his club football in France for Rennes is set to join Frank Lampard’s Chelsea. He is the latest name added in a season of mad transfers by Roman Abramanovich’s club. The Russian billionaire has agreed to sign the new goalkeeper for an estimated 18 million Pounds. The transfer fee was upgraded after Rennes reportedly refused 4 million Pounds less during earlier negotiations.


Wendy will be joining Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, and Hakim Zeyich among 6 others to make Stamford Bridge their home till next season. If Chelsea had secured three points playing Burnley, they would have been able to displace Arsenal and the Spurs from their respective positions and would have positioned themselves at no. 3. But they were unexpectedly stopped on a draw by the visiting Clarets and they could have just one more point added to their tally.

Although even with that one point, Chelsea managed to go past Arsenal with whom they were leveled with in terms of the no. of points and were trailing on the goal difference only, but they remained behind Tottenham.

Chelsea manager and coach Maurizio Sarri has come forward and talked about the conflict between the club and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga following the its defeat to football club Manchester City in the finals of the Carabao Cup.

The controversy puts the club in a tough position specially when we all witnessed how the club was having a fine start in the Premiere League. The conflict arose when Kepa did not let himself be substituted in the extra time. This angered the coach and he instantly shouted at the staff following which he even tore his clothes and marched away towards the tunnel in front of the cameras. Although, Maurizio did come back to the touchline in a while.
Later, defender Antonio Rudiger held back Sarri when he attempted to confront the goalkeeper just before the penalty shootout post which Manchester won the game with a score of 4-3.

Tuchel reckons Klopp wants to divert attention

Thomas Tuchel reckons that some of the controversial statements that Jurgen Klopp made in the aftermath of his team’s defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain, he probably made them purposefully so that people’s attention could divert and couldn’t remain on the result of the match which was a poor one from Liverpool’s perspective.

Tuchel admitted that even he as a coach does that at times, when he has a poor result in an important match and he doesn’t want to go into the details of the matche. So he goes in the press conferences and rather says indifferent things so that the focus can shift elsewhere.

“I think they are a very strong team. Maybe player-by-player, they are the best team in the league. At the moment City is more of a team, but player-by-player they are very, very strong. We are talking only about eight matches, they are doing well in the Champions League so they can improve in the Premier League, we are talking about two months.”

Victor Moses announces his retirement from international football

Chelsea defender Victor Moses has confirmed his retirement from international football at the age of 27. The attacker has been a regular feature for Nigeria over the past seven years but he has now decided to step down from national team duty to concentrate on his club career and his young family.

“I would like to announce that after much thought I have made the decision to retire from playing international football. I have experienced some of the best moments of my life wearing the Super Eagles shirt and have memories with me that will last a lifetime. Nothing will ever compete to what it felt like to represent Nigeria on behalf of our country. However, I feel that now is the right time to step away in order to be able to focus fully on club career and my young family as well as to allow the next generation of Super Eagles stars the opportunity to step up and to flourish,” he wrote on his official Instagram account.
